Re: Exasperated by stuttering SP250... all suggestions welcome!

I know it's not standard but as so much electronics today are for -ve earth cars it must be worth swapping to -ve earth, on most SP's it is just turn the battery round swap the Ammeter connections and replace the leads , unless you have an alternator and a +ve earth radio that's it, the dynamo will ...

Re: SP250 Restrictor or non-return valve for brakes

The restrictor valve is what its name suggests, it is there to reduce the flow to the rear brakes to stop them locking whilst under normal braking, nothing to do with the double pump which is caused by mechanical issues, ( bearings, disc set up and the rear axle flexing) it is interesting that Geoff...

Re: SP250 spare wheel retaining bolt

If you can get a long enough bolt in UNF weld a nut to the bolt head, if you can't get a length of UNF stud bar and weld two nuts to the end and grind a taper to the bottom end, easier to locate ther captivated nut without cross threading.

Re: Gearbox disaster

It is possible there is air in the system, if the previous owner has split the system then it is possible that when refilled there is an airlock to the cooler and you will dump oil either after a 20mile fast run or a longer run.
