Re: Aftermarket Fan Wiring Help Needed

Just be careful to check the relay provided, if it has a diode within it, it will be polarity sensitive and if the wrong way round will produce a dead short. Look on the casing for a diode symbol and ensure you fit it with the pointy end to the positive, in your case earth.

Re: Obsolete parts.

With regards to the gears for the tacho drive, when I was a mere lad, I did a spell of work in tachograph calibration for trucks and my mentor had a whole rack full of Lucas Kienzle gears from which they selected to make adaptor box ratios. There were literally hundreds of combinations. Surely, some...

Re: Electrical puzzle on V8 saloon

Two pin flasher cans are usually found as Hazard flashers. Has someone attempted to fit a Hazard system and messed with the wiring? As stated in last post, normally it would be a 3 terminal, one pin ignition supply (green) then one to warning lights (wl terminal) and the third goes off to the lamps....

Have you checked the pistons fall at the same rate in the pots? If the pistons inadvertently get swapped over they may rise/fall at different rates. The effect is as described. Take both tops off, put pistons in them and then turn both over and ensure they both fall at the same speed. Mind they don'...

There's also Owen Springs in Rotherham. Bit nearer to God's country.

Re: AC Car Clock

Speedograph Richfield did a couple of clockwork clocks for me, quite a few years ago but they still work OK. Not sure if they still do.
Alternatively, if its an electric clock, this firm cover a lot of bases:

Re: Multiple choice poll - vehicle engine type

I quite agree with Pete (bfg), this is not the fault of us individuals. A quick look at plane finder showing the number of aircraft in the skies at any moment in time highlights the fact as the sheer amount of aerofuel consumed dwarfs consumption by cars. It is the Air industries that need to come t...

Re: New Owner - 1968 Daimler 250 Saloon - Suffolk

You can't use door seals "off a roll" on these as each section is profiled to specifically fit. I would advise you buy a correct, genuine kit from the likes of SNG Barratt or Manners to ensure they do fit correctly. The last thing you'll want is to have to do it again if they're not right,...

Has anyone used citric acid in diluted form for radiator internal cleaning? Does it work well?
