Re: Insurance Company Tactics

Thanks for all your supportive replies - it really shows what our Club is all about. Thankfully, it was not a classic car and no-one was injured. I take on board all you say about dealing with the insurers - its as if you were all privy to the conversations I've had with their call-centre staff!! My...

Insurance Company Tactics

I was unfortunate enough to strike an unlit vehicle in a very dark narrow country lane last Saturday night - and reported the details it to my insurers at 9.20am the following morning (Sunday), and they took details of the other party etc. Ten minutes later I received an email to say my car had been...

Re: Jaguar 3.8 engine price

How long is a piece of string? Are you buying or selling? I'm afraid no-one can actually advise you "New Dexter" - as it basically all revolves around the condition of the engine, how desperate you are to acquire/sell it or it's component parts, and as Christopher rightly says, if it's component par...

Re: Winter storeage.

Thanks for your advice Richard , and I'll order the product you recommend.

Its not damp in my garage as such - but one thing which helps is a product called silica-jel which absorbs moisture - or use a de-humidifier.

Hence confirmation yet again of the old saying:

Winter storeage.

What's the take on winter storeage?

Should the coolant be drained (which could promote internal corrosion) or is there a specific anti-freeze recommendation which also acts as an anti-corrosion inhibiter?

Re: DS420 help required

Other than the clock (and I take it you mean the time-clock) - do all the other electrics work? If the starter turns the engine, its not battery connection. If the headlights come on, its not the main feed cicuits - so the clock should be energised. It does not have a seperate fuse - but may be wire...
