Hi David, Firstly, given you have attended to the relevant components, it is not your hydaulics - as the very purpose of using such a system is to provide total balance of braking force applied to the wheels. That said, I trust you have also checked out the mechanism and operation of the rear brakes...

The fuel guage measures the whole quantity of fuel in the tank which therefore includes reserve - which is simply a second feed pipe the inlet of which is a bit lower than the normal "non-reserve" feed pipe.

You cannot "jump start" a Daimler with a pre-select transmission in the conventional way of just a slow-speed tow - but as stated in a previous post the fluid flywheel will couple at about 15 - 20 mph. I think Nick might well be right - as you are in France and its more likely your track-rod ends were made on the continent, they could be metric. The solution therefore is to trot off to your local "nut and bolt" stockist and see what screws into them - that will identify the thread form and you can...
