Re: Something for a Sunday

I suspect the rash of bad driving from bigger German cars is down to high power older BMW's and Mercedes sports versions having become very cheap and available to young drivers. A high mileage 12-15 year old BMW 5 series or Mercedes CLK which still looks modern, can be picked up for the price of a C...

Re: Something for a Sunday

Oh dear Peter, you don't hold anything back do you, that is a very strong view, your comments are unfair, not at all well founded or backed up by fact. My wife and I have both driven Mercedes cars for the past 30 years, between us we have covered over 450,000 miles. With the exception of a rear end ...

Re: Dynamo to Alternator

Welcome Roger and congratulations on buying a proper car. Your question will earn a hefty response no doubt, but for what it is worth, I have had my SP250 for almost 10 years, it is used irregularly and has done less than 10,000 miles in my keeping. The Bosch battery was on the car when I got it and...

Re: Daimler DB18 Barker Special Sports

Back in the spring I listed a ride on mower on fleabay, it sold for much more than I expected and I received an email from the buyer in very raw English, I was not at all happy with the communication from the buyer which appeared to come from abroad. To cut a complicate story short, there is a group...

Re: N.E.C. Classic Car Show.

You said it Stan, what a great display and what a friendly welcome from the members running the DLOC stand and the SP250 stand.

First time I have been and it was tough going getting around but well worth the effort.

DLOC did us proud. Syd

P.S. Not sure that MDF would have stopped many bullets :D

I bet those exhausts would give you a nasty on the legs after a long run out. Madam would not be much pleased.

Wonder what it sounds like. Syd

Re: upolstery, carpet, etc kit for sp250

Hi Dave. I have an SP which was fitted with new kit carpets and upholstery when I bought it some years ago, they have not fared well, and turned out to be not very good quality, not sure where the previous owner bought them. I did an 30's Austin York some years ago, dismantled the old seats used the...

Re: NEC Classic Car Show 9-11 Nov

Just booked our tickets Graham, no problem on line and we saved a few quid on the door price, still time to book on line if you print off the tickets your self. Look forward to dropping the £1 club bonus vouchers off at the stand. Will be there Saturday some time. Syd (posted this to bring the OP ba...

Re: Axle ratio

Just thinking aloud here Mike but I wonder if you will gain anything by changing the ratio. My V8 250 manual overdrive achieves a higher speed in fourth than in overdrive. I have always presumed whilst engine rev's are reduced, the torque the engine produces is insufficient to drive the higher gear....

Re: Consort in Lancashire

Graham, I guess it is a sneaky way of not having to discount the price if some one haggles.

"all right then, full price but I will include the number" Syd
