Re: Daimler 15 Light Sportsman Engine overhauling

Hi Julian,
If you give Clive Hawkins (Daimler 15 Registrar) your engine info, he might be able to help. (clivehawk@aol.com)
Attached is some info I have gathered. Info is not gospel!!! Bob

Re: Daimler 15 Light Sportsman Engine overhauling

I would suggest you also check the cast plugs (11 I think) on the head. I thought the head was cracked, but the machine shop said no it wasn't cracked but one of the plugs has rusted through. Had them all changed when he redid the heads.

Re: Daimler 15 Light Sportsman Engine overhauling

Hi Julian,
I found some info ( 8 pages) in "Volume 2, Second Edition (revised),Motor Repair and Overhauling by Newness). You can find them on eBay, but I think only the earlier editions have Daimler 15 info.

PM me and I will share some info people have given me over the years

Re: Daimler 15 starting

If you have compression, petrol and a good spark at the correct time, the engine should run. Are you sure the timing is correct and not 180 degrees off? It is easy to have number 1 piston at top dead centre and the distributor rotor sitting at number 1 spark plug wire but the timing could still be w...

Hi Al,
Just wanted to thank you for sharing with us the journey you went through. I admire your positive attitude throughout. I tend to be a little more dramatic when things go wrong

Re: Exasperated by stuttering SP250... all suggestions welcome!

Just wondering if you notice this problem happening after your Kenlowe fan engages. If your electronic ignition and your fan are fed from the same source, maybe fan is dropping voltage at ignition enough to affect its workings. Another thought is put your points back in temporarily and see how it ru...

Re: Vehicle lifts / inspection pits

Hi Ranald I have a scissor lift similar to one below s-l500.jpg My ceiling height forced me to this type of lift. Positives 1. being portable it is easy to move about. 2.
