Re: Lumiweld Information

Could a water pump specialist suggest an alternative impeller that could be adapted to fit your needs.
There is one in Wolverhampton but there name escapes me at the moment.

Re: LD10 brakes help please

The amount of movement looks ample to me but I’m no expert on your model. The linings look to have enough meat on them but have they been relined. If not then have they been contaminated at any time in the past and rendering them useless. Have the drums been machined at any time or excessively worn....

Re: Distributor Want

Hello Stan,
I don’t know if it is at all comparable but I have A spare DJ6. From what I can see it is the same identical body but the balance weights are different. All the base plate and fittings are also the same. I don’t know about the camshaft.

Re: which engine crane

I agree with Sporty that you need both the lift and the filter. I found the Machine Mart equipment reasonable on price and quality. The CJS stuff not so much so. Cheap is not always best. The fold up ones good to store but still heavy. I have also done the job with an electric winch from Lidl suspen...

Re: Replacement Wiring Looms

Thank you gentlemen for both the advice and the good humour. This car is going to be a fair learning curve for me as it is my first Daimler, my first car of this era, and frankly I have bought a worse example than I should have, but I am sure that once we have it licked into something like ship sha...

Re: Replacement Wiring Looms

Stan,
I once made a modification on the loom in a dart. I Prepared the area to be cut by placing rags underneath but was pleased nothing dripped out. I checked the battery level afterwards but it had suffered no loss. It could of been because the wires were high up in the engine bay area.

Re: Save from Banger Track LXS613 DB18

Not the best looking Daimler but very much of it’s time and representative of how upper class Daimler thought they were. Understandable why they went down hill.
