Re: SP250 - That Narrow Rear Track

Just found a really good website for comparing tyres and wheel offset combinations to fit any car: https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=165&aspect=80&diameter=15&wheelwidth=5&offset=37&width2=185&aspect2=65&wheel_size=15&wheel_width=5-5&offset2=46 I played with it for a while comparing all so...

Re: Hood erection.

I could do it at the traffic lights if they'd just gone red and before the return to green, but although it can be done it takes lots of practice!

Re: SP250 - That Narrow Rear Track

Thanks for the TR6 picture; I don't like the silver band round the hood but feel the wheels aint too bad... it's the tyres that are too big! Each to his own eh? More to the point..... Does anyone's front wheels ever touch the inner wings? – mine used to before I put on my Minilite alloys. So, today ...

Re: SP250 - That Narrow Rear Track

Gordon, I sent you some pictures via personal email. There is, of course, the option to put spacers in behind either steel wheels or any splined adapter flanges on the back if you go for wires. Note that although it is not necessary to fit spacers with alloys the studs are not long enough to do this...

Re: SP250 - That Narrow Rear Track

Agreed! And with more offset you are less likely to have the wheels touch the inner wings on full lock. I decided spokes were too expensive, too common now and too much work keeping clean! I fitted 5.5" wide Minilites from the TR Centre when my steel wheels were getting spots of rust. The Minilites ...

Re: SP250 Mirror?

I have a correct stem but no mirror.
The only mirrors I have seen [MGB ones] look like you have to break them to get inside as they are crimped round the glass.
So I ask: does anyone know the best mirror to get to fit the stem?

Re: SP250 Original Pressed Wheels

Well, it seems original and standard is now well explained. I thought Mountain Blue was the only original Blue colour and Mountain Blue is not dark. But I stand corrected. I thought only the very last cars were painted any colour to order but was aware that some were done to special order, like mine...
