Re: MGF seats in a Dart ?

Hi Terry, There’s not much space to get photos but you’ll get the general idea. It’s basically a flat piece a steel welded between the back end of the runners and another at the front. The steel is 50mm x 4mm. The rear piece has three holes drilled to match the pitch of the three body mount bolts. I...

Re: MGF seats in a Dart ?

Hi. I fitted MGF seats into my Dart. Also I think I may be that Scottish member they Ian Slade is referring to earlier in this thread. Hi Ian. I had them retrimmed in the same leather that Bryan Purves used to trim the rest of the car. I also fitted a lowering kit into the base of the seat which is ...

Re: SP 250 seat belts

I used the Quickfit three point aircraft style belts with Bryan Purves' stainless steel reinforcing fit. I'd recommend both.

Re: Dart restoration complete.

Strange, the photos were all the right way round when I posted and viewing on a few different devices they are all OK. Anyway. No the seats are not from Newton. They are MGF seats. The late 90's model, not the slightly later MGTF. Bryan Purves supplied the full leather interior with two addition hid...

Dart restoration complete.

Yesterday was a very special day. It was seven years to the day (first Wednesday of the month) that I attended my first West of Scotland branch meeting as a DLOC member. What made yesterday special was it was the first time in those seven years that I’ve been able to drive a Daimler to the meeting. ...

Re: sp250 door lock controls

Hi. I had the same problem but found that the lock remotes from a Reliant Regal are very similar. I just had a quick look and there is one on eBay at present, see the link below. By coincedence it's being sold by the same company I bought mine from, (now old stock). As I recal the Regal passenger go...

Re: Chassis paint

Long story short I ended up having my SP chassis powder coated and painted. Firstly it was sandblasted and then got a grey zinc rich powder coat primer baked on. I then gave it two coats of Rustbuster Epoxy Mastic121. The epoxy mastic is a super product which thoroughly recommend. Brush and stipple ...

Re: Dynalite versus Dynamator

Sorry for the delay in uploading some shots, I'm moving house this week so have been a bit preoccupied. The first shot shows the spade connector hiding behind the oil filler. The second shows the piggy-back spade connector I made. Third shows the Dynamator in position. This will be improved when I r...

Re: Dynalite versus Dynamator

Hi Richard, I have some recent experience of the Dynamator that I’d be very happy to share with you. I recently finished my Dart project but one of the last things I had to buy was a Dynamo lookalike alternator. I chose the Dynamator on price, it looked right and with the stainless steel cover in pl...
