Re: Manners website
Hi I have to feel sorry for the staff at Manners as I have always found them courteous and helpful as far as their systems allow in terms of stock levels. As usual it is the management that is totally out of touch with reality probably trying to do do to much with so many brands. There quality seems...

Re: 1910 Russell-Knight (Daimler engine)
Hi Peter
If you look at the Data sheets section you will find one on the sleeve valve engine. it may be of some interest if nothing else. I can not remember where I got the information from but I think it is reliable.
Regards
Colin

Re: Italian Road Trip
Hi All It was only last year that we did not use one of the classic cars. We have taken them to Prague, Corsica, Bavaria, Spain Portugal Andorra and all over Switzerland France Belgium Holland . The basics are the same to see the best of the country take the Non Motorway route. For Hotels it depends...

Re: Italian Road Trip
Hi Kevin We added a trip to the Italian lakes as an add on to the International rally in Holland. Unfortunately we could not take the dart as we originally intended as David beales failed miserably to get the engine rebuilt, but that's another story. I attach the day planner for the trip and do have...

Re: Re building an engine
Hi Henry Thanks for this. In my simple mind the A would be the smallest and B the next size up so that is very useful information. The pistons and the block are marked and as there is no oversize bore marks I am assuming the engine has not been rebored. Only taken to bits and put together many times...

Re: Crown Wheel & Pinion
Hi
Thanks for these replies.I should have said it is my V8 250 saloon I was asking about. From what as been said I think I will leave it at the moment and see how it is after a 1000 mile trip to Scotland in mid October.

Crown Wheel & Pinion
Hi Had the car checked out today and there appears to be quite a lot of play from the drive shaft into the crown wheel & pinion. How much play should there be? If as I suspect it is wear then how big a job is it to change the crown wheel & pinion. My understanding is that you require special tooling...
