Re: Camshaft Welch Plug
Dave, Thanks for your reply.
It dawned on me after posting the original inquiry that the measurement I made was an odd size and in fact converted nicely to 52 mm.
Odd to think there are metric dimensions incorporated into these engines.
cheers,
Fred

Camshaft Welch Plug
Can anyone give me the nominal diameter of the welch plug that goes in the back of the block for the camshaft?
My vernier reading of the opening in the block as best I can measure it is 2.047". This would suggest to me a nominal measurement of 2 1/16".

Re: Daimler V8 Performance tuning - knowledge hub
Steve, I am curious about the modifications to your rocker arms and posts you have mentioned.
Any chance of posting some pictures about all of that? Curious to learn more about that.

Re: Daimler V8 Performance tuning - knowledge hub
Steve, I went through the exercise of the possibility of roller tappets in the Daimler a while back when I started the work on the mushroom tappets. Widely available small block Chevrolet and small block Ford roller lifters were too large in diameter for the space between the cam lobes to work. Need...

I need one of these quite urgently. Anyone in Australia have one to spare ? Had the misfortune to break one adjusting the tappets yesterday.

Re: Hole in oil pressure relief valve
Barry, By sealing the hole in the cap holding spring and plunger in place I believe you are potentially creating an hydraulic lock where the space in around the spring would fill up and prevent the plunger from moving and effectively jamming the relief valve entirely. That is not a desirable outcome...

Re: Hole in oil pressure relief valve
Here is a picture of my pump. The exit port for the relief valve exits to the sump . The cap that holds the relief valve spring is also vented to the sump. The standard oil filter housing has its own separate relief valve to guard against filter blockage. That is not related to this discussion. The ...
