Has only covered about 2000miles in the last thirteen years.
That is so sad!

Appleyard DB18 Special Sports. Interesting to think that when the picture was taken it was only 20 years old or so.

Pre-Jaguar post-war Daimlers

re posted rom the Hooper thread: My goodness there’s a book in here. Get your heads together, find an editor and publish! Nice idea Graham but sounds like too much hard work which has largely been covered by Brian Smith. However I do have a large collection of photos of pre-Jaguar post-war Daimlers ...

DB18 Special Sports chassis Hooper 2 door from 1973 when it was for sale at Alec Norman's in Sandy Bedfordshire.
I seem to remember it had tip-up cinema-type seats in the rear.

Empress.jpeg Image (5).jpg From c1973 Brian Smith's very smart Majestic Major with a 3 1/5 litre Empress body. Resplendent in maroon with a tan interior it could have been mine for £2000 and was recently seen for sale in Switzerland (£70,000?) in a two-tone brown and gold colour scheme. img001.jpg

Conquest Century MkII TGO 423

I was sorting out some old photos and came across this: 1973 Pam's 18000m Daimler Century.jpg It was an 18000 mile 1956 Century MkII that I bought in 1973 from a garage in Beckenham , Kent, called Richard Epps. Its a shame I can't trace any pictures of the interior which was in unmarked cream leathe...

Re: Leather Refurbishment Info Please

Hi again. I've just re-read the original question and see you have seat covers rather than covered seats to deal with. This gives you the ideal opportunity to apply your chosen product to the inside of the leather where it will soak in more rapidly to the 'suede' side of the leather which is much mo...

Re: Leather Refurbishment Info Please

Gliptone is a good all-rounder and leaves a very strong leather smell. I use it after using neat's foot oil to make the leather supple. It's made from cattle shins and feet and is a more natural (and I think effective) preparation than Gliptone or the other stalwart Connolly's Hide Food. If you go t...

Re: Just bought.......

I think you've got a rather good opportunity here Colc: maybe the phrase 'It's only original once' applies. The originality has gone for ever and although the specification can be restored it won't be 'original'. I have a Jensen CV-8 that I bought with non-original modifications and I have continued...

Re: Conquest Mk2 1956

A pleasure Philip. You might chase down the Jensen route as I have just remembered seeing the trunking used on Jensen Interceptors modified to transmit cool air from the front of the car directly into the carb so as not to get superheated by the ferociously hot engine bay. It wasn't a Jensen modific...
