Re: 1969 Daimler V8-250 saloon

Brexit - Number plates

Hi there are innumerable cars driving round with the left hand GB/EU flag segment. I am surprised no one seems to be marketing a robust stick on Union Jack GB replacement? or am I wrong...?

Re: Hard Start

Josh. First things first, a good 12 volt battery when fully charged should show 13.5 volts I am sorry but that is incorrect. A fully charged battery will read 12.6 to 12.8 volts Please see This Site and many others. A battery may show a higher voltage for a very short time after disconnection from ...

Re: Radio Removal

Hi Steve I doubt that air blast will do it. I have restored loads of crackly volume and other rheostats over the years using switch cleaner. You only need a little and as such the spray can i bought over 40 years ago still works! Just Google "Switch Cleaner" which will give various options from vari...

Re: Rear window catches

Hi I would also like to know if there are any tricks in getting these window catches to work? My O/S catch goes through the motions but as soon as you shut the door it springs open. I have adjusted whole mounting several times but to no avail. Have also compared with N/S catch which works perfectly ...

Re: Re building an engine

Shortly the magnificent lump will be taken off to the engineers. I am holding out for original vanderveld bearings to be fitted - but so far have only found 1 potential stockist (who is coy on prices). Most of the usual suppliers offer 'unbranded' bearings - no thanks. I'm now after opinions on "Co...

Interesting V8 Saloon - post edited

Please see ebay item 264457742760 This car was obviously at a prototype stage when Jaguar took over. It is reminiscent of the Standard Vanguard Vignale and think I did read somewhere a few years ago that Daimler had explored a possible liason with Standard. However I did not realise this had gone as...

Re: radiator fan shroud

Unfortunately no dimensions given but the drawing does not look too dissimilar to the top half of the cowl for the V8 / V8-250 saloon that is readily available. Would depend on very similar fan diameter and need some mods and mounting brackets etc but...??
