Re: Daimler 15 Girling rod brake expanders
Hi Rach250, I've just phoned Blue Diamond. Helpful chap. He confirmed no spare bodies are available. They've tried getting a prototype made but it was unsuccessful due to inaccurate machining and they dropped the idea. But new manufacture's really my only course so I'll have to try it. Thanks anyway...

Good idea - thanks. I knew Rileys had the same sort of thing.

Re: Axle wedges for 1935 Daimler 15
Hi Ivor, Interesting - thanks. I'll try altering the toe-in - nice and easy. I'm going to try wedges as as far as I can see there's practically no caster angle at the moment, whereas according to Clive's data sheets it should be 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 degrees: the kingpins are exactly perpendicular to the to...

Daimler 15 Girling rod brake expanders
Both of the front brake expanders on the 1935 sports saloon I'm restoring have broken cone plunger guides. These are the ones with slots to allow the rod to exit at an angle when the steering is turned - a weak design, especially in diecasting alloy. Does anyone have any spares available of these ra...

Axle wedges for 1935 Daimler 15
Despite new kingpins, Marcel's ministrations to the steering box, no apparent play in the track rod ends and drag link, corrected toe-in and checked tyre pressures my sports saloon's steering has been deemed still unacceptably woolly (though no longer 'bloody dangerous') by a friend who's an experie...

Resetting and refitting prewar leaf springs
As part of the very drawn-out restoration of my 1935 Daimler 15 sports saloon, I am attempting to refit the springs. which were reset a few years ago by a well-known Midlands company. The fronts now measure 818mm and 827mm between eye centres unloaded (presumably they should be the same - maybe one'...

Removing a '15' dynamo
I'm trying to remove the malfunctioning dynamo on my 2166cc engine in order to swap it with the working one from my 2003cc engine. With the fixing stud nuts loosened there isn't enough slack in the chain to slip it off the sprocket, so the sprocket will have to come off the dynamo's spindle as I wit...

Daimler 15 exhaust
I'm looking for a complete new stainless steel exhaust system for my 1935 '15'. The present one is not suitable for copying. Anyone have any idea of the price I should pay? Any recommendations for suppliers? I live near Banbury.

Daimler 15 oil pressure relief valve
I have a 2166cc engine, no 83479, which has been recomditioned but lacks the 'guts' in its oil pressure relief valve. The 5/8" dia passage in from the outside has a blind hemisphere at the far end, with a pipe coming up from below within the hemisphere; there is no perpendicular shoulder for a ...
