Re: 1951 DAIMLER DB18 EMPRESS 2.5-LITRE Registration no. RFR 86 Chassis no. 53900

I have had an email back from the owner.

I had spotted the missing inner wings, and he tells me he is planning to fit them before the car leaves for Bonhams.

Given the wings are aluminium, and lots of flowing curves, I suspect the inners are necessary.

Hope it finds a loving new home.

I believe it’s a members car.

Have a look at the Facebook page , to see a picture with it’s stable mates.

Lots of work done to complete a restoration, in which parts were lost etc. Looks nice now though.

Re: 1935 Daimler 15 for sale ebay

This guy has found quite a few cars over the years, and I suspect most end up as scrap.

Looking at the pics it looks like a well preserved example that has fallen on hard times.

Maybe too much unless someone us very brave !!

Re: db18 special sports fuel pipe

Peter, many thanks for your research.

I have confirmed that the banjo is brass and the 5/16 od pipe is copper.

I have ordered the 2 banjos from Holdens today. I already have the pipe.

Many thanks

db18 special sports fuel pipe

I need to remake the solid fuel pipe that goes from the Petrol Pump to the 2 Carbs ( the remains I have are too short, and damaged). I have worked out that the pipe is 5/16 inch, so no issue there, but I cant find the 2 Banjo Unions, The first Carb has a Banjo with an "in" and an "out", and the seco...

Re: guttering on Consort

I have some recollection of removing the wooden frame from inside a Consort, but it was in the 1980's.. The roof gutters are a weak point as the gutter is separate from the roof panel, and the water gets into the joint. The gutter is held in place by a series of self-tapers fastened into wooden beam...

Re: Registration number archives

Quick update.. I have now visited the Wakefield Archive. The Register exists, and shows that only 1 plate was issued to Appleyards in the series OUA with a 3 as the first number, that is for sure OUA3. That means the Appleyards publicity photo (seen in the Daimer Books) is OUA3. The original index c...

Re: What to do with "stuff"

I tried a similar exercise last year, trying to make room to swing next doors cat ! First, be realistic about likely sale potential - lots of stuff just won’t sell. Next offer it to dloc friends and forum. None daimler stuff can go on eBay. The result was that lots of stuff ends up in the tip. Gener...
