Henry, I suspect they will appear in the bearing manufacturers catalogues if they are plain shells - Glacier etc
(Know they are available for the db18 if you know the size /,manufacturers part number)

Guys, maybe extract one and measure.
(Are they all the same ?)
Think it’s then worth checking with engine specialists like Thornton’s
Ps have you asked Derek Sleigh ?

Re: Daimler Barker Special Sports newly bought.
Also, chassis number is found on the top of the chassis rail, underneath the carbs (close to the bulkhead. (Often this remains when the one near the wiper motors is lost). Have no knowledge of the Body Number, but could speculate that it’s related to the drawing number. I am still looking to get thi...

Re: Rear hub oil seal.
Just curious about the flow of oil. Seems a lot in a 100 miles. Is there an oil escape point bay the end of the tube ( on the db18 axle, the backplate has a cutout to drain any excess axle oil onto the outside rather than inside of the hub ? Also, could the axle be overfilled ? Finally, is the oil d...

Re: db18 dhc jacking with trolley jack
Not recommended, on the basis that the axle is in three parts, and the two arms are bolted into the aluminium body of the diff. Jacking under the diff body puts all the weight on the securing bolts. Nb never seen a broken one but,,,, Better to use the built in jacks plus axle stands under the chassis.

Re: 1957 DE26
Is it just me, or does the rear look a little odd for a limo ?
Looks like the rear door/boot is split ( up and down)
Maybe a converted hearse ??
Just asking

Re: 1939 DE27 for sale
Anthony. Think it was a maiden bid if £3k. I had a hood look at it on Saturday. The drivers door has dropped a bit on the hinges. The rear door is a worse, probably over extended. Both could be fixed. Otherwise, body hood, interior good vinyl. Was driven off the trailer into the auction. So, a barga...

Re: 1939 DE27 for sale
Quick update. Had a call from the auctioneer. (Gary Dunne) Car will be driven there today. The history file will be available at the nec, including a letter from the dloc about the cars early history, which will be interesting, mentions a photo with the Royal Navy registration plate, though no photo...
