Re: LD10 dashboard
To get the slight curve you will either have to glue up about 3 layers of thin ply over a former, if its a gradual curve the former can just be some timbers as spacers that reduce in height from the centre on say a stout plank. Use a glue like Cascamite that does not creep and probably over bend sli...

Re: LD10 dashboard
Older plywood used animal glue to bond the ply sheets together, this was made from boiling animal hides so provided a tasty meal for woodworm. Assuming it is a flat dashboard no problem for a small joinery company. Veneer assuming you can source it can be applied with contact adhesive by them or you...

Re: Lanchester LA10 Fuel issue
I totally agree and have several garden tools with engines and never had any trouble or given a thought to the age of the petrol, until now that is with my little LD10, which went from suddenly running rough to totally dead. New points , condenser, plugs and coil even though there was a nice fat spar...

Re: Lanchester LA10 Fuel issue
If not sorted by now I would drain all the fuel from the tank including the carb and the delivery line and pump and put in fresh petrol, not petrol that has even stood in a can for a month, fresh petrol and you may be surprised. Do not add to existing petrol, start with all new as I have a feeling t...

Re: Lanchester LD10 LHU655 1948
Just wondering what is the best estimate for the number of LD10's on the road. Mine is fully roadworthy and I always assumed there are many more in a similar condition and in use. I also see so many claims for high cruising speeds for this age of vehicle that I feel my 40 to 45 and the occasional bu...

Re: Brake shoes
Interesting post as I do not know what my car has been relined with, I only know that it takes a strong leg to stop the vehicle, so would welcome information on how you get on and cost if possible.

Re: CONQUEST IGNITION
The modern ones are certainly getting more reliable and My Gammatronix points triggered unit will be fitted soon as I get round to doing it. Many classic car owners are fitting Alternators, some of them that look like Dynamos or electronic internals for Regulators. Anything that can help to keep you...
