Re: SP250 Retrofit lap seatbelt
I can’t help with any original drawings etc. but if it helps & seeing as no one else has posted yet:- I made some simple attachment brackets from 1/4” strip & attached them via the body-to-chassis bolts that are either side of the seats. The photograph shows the one to the right of the RH se...

Re: stat housing blocked almost solid with crystal like crud
There are plenty of cooling system flushing products on the market - I have no expertise but hopefully someone else will respond with something good for iron / aluminium engines. If it's already running hot a chemical flush may not be enough, of course. Once cleaned I'd switch to a diferent antifree...

Re: stat housing blocked almost solid with crystal like crud
I've never seen anything this bad - or this type. What's the history of the engine - e.g. is it from a running car, or an engine stood somewhere for years?

SP Axle Retaining Straps & Rubbers
In case it's of any interest; I recently made 3D printed rubber rebound buffers for the rear axle straps on my SP. They seem to work OK so far & may be something others might like to try. Apart from plain steel straps, the original axle restraining straps haven't been available for over 40yrs to...

Re: Carb Spindle Refurb'
Brilliant! Thanks again. It was the second link - with the Trend Counterbore tool - that I remember reading previously.

Re: Carb Spindle Refurb'
Many thanks for these. (I've realised that I was, stupidly, using the wrong search box on the Forum!) There's some really useful stuff here but (so far) not the article/post I vaguely remember. The article talked about using a cunning method to maintain alignment across the carb, I think. I should b...

Carb Spindle Refurb'
I remember reading a detailed article describing the fitment of bearings and seals to our carburetors. It involved drilling / reaming the worn carb body to accept the new spindle and seals. I'd like to have a go at tackling my own worn carbs. Trouble is that I can't find the article. Could anyone re...

Rocker Cover Nut Tool - 3D print version
In case it's of use to anyone - I designed a 3D printable tool for safely handling the 12 point rocker cover nuts. It's freely available here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6016086/files
May be a handy option if you have access to a 3D printer and need to get your nuts off

Re: SP250 - Spark plugs in oil
Hi, It's a 'sediment filter' only - not a pressure regulator. The 'wings' are just an on/off tap. Burlen do have regulators available (https://sucarb.co.uk/fuelling-accessories.html) but the SP250 didn't have one originally. The SU Pump effectively sets the pressure by its inherrent design. I hope t...
