Re: LD10 seats and boot lid stays
Paul I've compared the spare strut I have with my car now - photos attached. It is for the left side. It's a bit stiff to move by hand but that would just need a clean. The only thing that apperas to be wrong with it is that one of the corners of the bottom bracket where it attaches to the body is b...

Re: LD10 seats and boot lid stays
I do have a spare spring for the boot lid stay on the LD10, still attached to a stay. I will be able to tell whether the stay is right or left when I get home on Sunday evening and compare it with the ones on my car. When Adrian our former registrar passed away and his storage sheds were due to be s...

Re: woe woe rain
Here's a link to Catherine Jones website, which has quite a lot of useful information, including a video of her car driving along. Hers is a Barker LD10 but the engine and sound is the same. http://catherinejones.awardspace.co.uk/Images/videos.htm There are other videos on youtube, one being another...

Re: Dropped fluid flywheel plug
I should add, the reason I dropped mine in the first place was that I used blue tac in the socket to retain the plug, and this time it fell out of the socket anyway. Now when I check the level I stuff some old hand towel into the gap underneath the plug (between the housing and the flywheel) before ...

Re: Dropped fluid flywheel plug
I had this problem on my LD10 and could see it with the aid of a dentist style mirror. However my attempts to hook it up failed and it fell down further. I found there definitely is not enough clearance to turn the crank fully - i tried gently with a couple of spark plugs out to make it easier to co...

Many thanks both, I'll do as you suggest and leave the hinges on the bulkhead.

LD10 bonnet removal
Any tips please on the best way to take the bonnet off my LD10 - is it to support it whilst undoing the brackets from the bonnet, or the brackets from the bulkhead? The support springs must be quite strong. I want to take it off because I'm removing the front bodywork for easier access to overhaul t...

Re: LA10 Preselector Issues
On my LD10, before I replaced the oil seal, my fluid flywheel leaked, and when it had insuffucient oil in the flywheel, the car had similar symtoms as you describe, particularly the delay in selecting reverse and reluctance to go up hills.

Re: 1936 10 Sports Saloon VAS 796
Interior looked even worse when it was sold last year by Mathesons https://www.mathewsons.co.uk/auction/lot/6-circa-1930s-lanchester/?lot=6827&sd=1 for £3,300. Had a different number plate. Comparison of the photos suggests that the drivers seat pad (which was shaped to fit around the handbrake ...
