Re: Rear hub oil seal.

Thank you all for your responses
I will try to adapt a lip seal to replace the felt seal.
The outer diameter is 59.5 mm. There is no joint in this size and I doubt that a 60mm joint would fit.
I'm going to try with a modified 59mm

Re: Rear hub oil seal.

You said : "You've to detach the felt washer and the cup out of the seat"

I have found the felt washer, but in my setup, I dont have a "cup".
That is why I tought you spoke about the main propeler shaft

Re: Rear hub oil seal.

Hello Robert, this is exactly what I told you by my answers in this thread dated 28th and 30th July 2021. Rolf B. Hello Rolf Sorry, my English is not very good. In your message, I thought you were talking about the driveshaft between the gearbox and the axle. I replaced this seal with a lip seal. I...

Re: Rear hub oil seal.

Thank you for your answers. Breather is OK and oil quantity OK (1.5 pint) This oil comes from the differential, passes through the bearing and flows at the end of my shaft. But if I read the only document I have for this vehicle, the bearings are greased, so there shouldn't be any oil there. https:/...

Good evening everyone, https://sm3.photorapide.com/membres/3855/photos/1125kf.jpg https://sm3.photorapide.com/membres/3855/photos/z78448.jpg I replaced the seal on the outside of the rear wheel bearing and the oil leak returned after about a hundred miles. So, I think there is an other seal on the o...

Oil leak again

Hello everyone. I have an oil leak at the exit of the axle on the wheel side of my 1936 LA 10. https://sm3.photorapide.com/membres/3855/photos/1125kf.jpg https://sm3.photorapide.com/membres/3855/photos/z78448.jpg I have replaced the lip seals twice and after 300 km, the leak comes back. What type of...

Re: 2.5 V8 Rear Hub Removal

To disassemble mine, I tried all sorts of pullers, including a 10-ton hydraulic one that exploded.
I then removed the hub with the shaft and used a 30 ton hydraulic press and heater.
When he let go, the explosion was impressive.
Be careful not to damage the thread during all these operations.

Re: Question about Luvax shocks

The seals are :

ID 20mm
OD 32mm
Height one 5 mm and one 7 mm per shock absorber.
The genuine rubber bush is 12 mm height .
For the oil I use Dynolite Trans 140

Re: Question about Luvax shocks

Unfortunately when I repaired the first one, I didn't take a picture. I will do it for others. The hardest part is getting the key out. I heated with a heat gun and used a press. When it was removed, I fixed the body of the shock on a vice and heated the arm and I turned it to the stop from one side...
