I had similar sounding issues on my saloon which I eventually cured by replacing the voltage regulator, it's a cheap enough part so might be worth a try

Hi, Did you resolve this? If your still running an original alternator and voltage regulator, I found that a regulator failure caused very similar symptoms to dirty carbs

Hi if the leak isn't consistent there is a valve that can fail which allows fluid to drain back into the box from the torque convertor, the fluid then rises up in the box and comes out around the switch? it usually happens if you do a long run and then park the car for a week or so in my experience,...

Does it leak all the time or does it seem to dump a bit of fluid now and then, especially if it's been left for a bit? there is a return valve in the box that stops the torque convertor draining back and that spring can weaken and the level in the box rises and dumps fluid from the switch. I rebuilt...
