radiator cap/ expansion tank
Dear All Thanks for replies. To answer some of your obs. cap is long enough but still wondering if 9 psi would do the job, head gaskets fine, have seen posts/photos re tank but as last poster observed if all is well, and I make sure it is a constant amount i need to re-fill, it does appear to run at...

Expansion tank
Re my very recent post on rad cap pressures thought I would have a look at Jag Mk 2 pages. Appears retro fit expansion tanks popular.

Radiator cap op. pressure
My '67 V8 2 1/2 litre is running very well and keeps a very even temperature (and oil pressure) but I am regularly topping up the radiator with a pint or so of 50:50 anti freeze. I am not losing fluid through leaks and the level seems to settle just out of site from a visual inspection through the t...

Re: Paint code
Thanks for replies on 'paint code' I've only small patches of rust and body finishing / paint finishing is not in my skill set. I used to do it myself in my youth and on 'old bangers' but don't want to attempt it on the opalescent silver grey so have a quote from a mobile sprayer but wants to use a ...

Does anybody have the paint code for opalescent silver grey as used on 1966 V8 or know where I can find it please? Is there a recommended supplier for paint?

Re: Clunks into 1st
Thanks Neil and Bob
I'll check rear wheels. Suppose actions now are monitor clunks, try new transmission level regime, keep check on transmission cooler and most importantly keep enjoying driving a V8 that's going v well. I'm trying to get to Redhill on 11th to learn a bit more!

Re: Clunks into 1st
Thanks Bob No idea what was in transmission, but it's pink, so I've topped up with 0.25l of Castrol Classic TQF. Car seems to be running Ok other than occasional clunk. I will continue to keep a watch on coolant and transmission fluid just to prove trans cooler is OK. There is quite a lot of old pos...

Re: Clunks into 1st
Thanks Russ It hasn't 'clunked' all weekend and as I'm unfamiliar with BW transmissions I'll not make any adjustments to the cable unless it's a regular re-occurance. I do struggle to get a definative level on transmission dipstick in 'P' as prescribed and do you think high or low level could contri...
