Re: V8 saloon headlining replacement

Hi this is post I made earlier and that is how I did it on my car, it might help you decide which way you want to do it? Hi. I did mine about 15 years ago, using a foam sheet supplied by woollies, either high density foam white colour or heavier solid foam sheet but that is heavier, or something lik...

Re: V8 saloon headlining replacement

Hi Kieran, I did get your message thru the notifications, but I have an issue with responding thru that system so might be an IE issue my end? I need both my phones active all the time( landline and mobile) so I rarely ring from them as I have to have them open to receive updated info as I'm a carer...

Re: V8-250 Saloon: Rear Window Replacement

Yep. a job that is a worry but the screens are pretty tough, I did my dad's jag mk2 and it was a tight fit and he thought I was going the crack the screen as I was being a bit(vigorous) with it, so I let my dad leave after he told me if I do it like that I will break it. so I put the screen in ok an...

Re: V8-250 Saloon: Rear Window Replacement

Hi I have done this both on my v8 and jag mk2 and it is pretty simple to do, I found it best to fit the seal on the glass and thread a nylon cord around the lip and cross it over at the bottom of the window and just use some Vaseline to help it along and start at the bottom area and push the window ...

Re: Mixture control (choke!) cable change, saloon

Hi, yep a right pig, but I found it best to either take that side of the dash out after trying the rear escutcheon nuts were impossible tight, but still had skinned knuckles, make sure you have enough free play in the cable,a small racket 1/4" size helps if doing it behind the dash, but is one job I...

Re: V8 250 Rear bumper trim

Mine are a bit loose but they have been like that for 15 years so they would have come off and no problem when I wash the car either, think they are push in clip system on the inside of the bumper, but it's so long ago now.

Re: Wiper motor cleaning and overhaul

Hi, just change the main drive wheel as the XJ series wheel is 105 degrees and the mk2 jag one is I think 95 ?, can't remember as so long ago now, I had to mess with the xj park inards and just use the main wires to wire into the wiper switch and then put in a ceramic 15v adjustable switch to stop t...

Re: Wiper motor cleaning and overhaul

Hi Rob, my wiper motors were underpowered as with your issue with the grease that had gone hard, I found that the series 1 XJ motor much better and no need to change the wiper linkage, had to make up a bracket and swap over the drive wheel from the XJ to the V8 and have a fiddle with the wiring but ...
