Re: SP250 Dwell angle

Page 2 of the instructions. For an 8 cylinder engine: Dwell % = Dwell o / 0.45 assuming a single distributor and a single set of points. The data sheet for my dwell angle meter quotes 31 o - 37 o for a Lucas 20D8 distributor on a Daimler V8. That would be 70% - 82%. Your gap is slightly off at about...

Re: Sale of new Petrol & Diesel only cars to be banned from 2035

Yes, you are right John for conversions. I was referring to future technology and comparing it to battery technology which is what is being so widely promoted today despite the possible shortcomings. Lack of petrol is not going to affect us for the foreseeable future anyway. I heard a discussion on ...

Re: Sale of new Petrol & Diesel only cars to be banned from 2035

In the battery powered vehicle electricity comes from a store in the form of a battery. In a hydrogen powered vehicle the electricity comes from a hydrogen fuel cell. ...

Re: Sale of new Petrol & Diesel only cars to be banned from 2035

I'm no scientist, economist or engineer but it seems to me logical that solar and hydrogen is the way to go. There is enough energy from the sun to generate all the consumable energy the earth needs. Except a lot of it is in the wrong place. If we could harness the power of the sun in the sunniest p...
