Re: Correct water temperature

Colin, My V8 generally sits around the N but can rise to O or R on hot days - 30°c+ - or if climbing hills. I would be very concerned if the temp started to get up to L. If you are concerned about overheating always suspect the radiator first. When was it last flushed or better thoroughly cleaned. C...

Re: DB18 sports special- engine number

David,

Off side front of engine block just above the generator bracket. Don't confuse the small brass plaque nearby, this is a list number. The engine number is stamped in the block.

Re: Conquest Century core plugs

David, I had a look this am and it looks like it is possible to replace the core plugs with the engine in situ but it will be fiddly and require a mirror and some dexterity. Easier with the manifolds off, in fact a couple of the core plugs probably can't be replaced without removal of the manifolds....

Hi David,

Special Sports record price?

The protype SS sold at auction on Saturday for AUD$97000 but with buyers premium AUD$104,000. Amazing!

Maybe people are begining to appreciate the Daimler Special Sports, a rising tide liftsa ll ships - hopefully.

Re: Special Sports head torque settings

What tyre pressures Graham? I use 35 psi all- round on my Special Sports which you have driven. I have never driven a SS with crossplies but enjoy my SS with radials and have no issues with directional stability, rather the contrary.

Cheers
Michael

PS see you at Peebles.

Re: ss woodwork

DnJ

I think th e wood was English Ash but when I restored my SS it wasn't available and I used American Ash that was readily available.
