LD10 needs a caring owner
I have owned a 1951 LD10 since September 2017. Since then I've partly recommissioned it to the point where it's roadworthy, but definitely not in perfect or near perfect condition. Due to unforseen personal circumstances I have lost the will to finish it, and have had it advertised on some free inte...

Re: Small problem with LD10 gearbox
It's been a while since I've been able to get back to this persistent problem. The gear change lever on the side of the gearbox is very sloppy, in that if you remove the linkage from it and position it as would happen in a gear selection change, it feels very imprecise, especially the top to 3rd posi...

When is a bodge not a bodge
When is a bodge not a bodge. Well back in the late 60's - early 70's as a REME mechanic, the answer was when it's a "Field Modification". With only 54 miles of driving and a few hours of ticking over my LD10 conked out ( on a busy roundabout) with the CB points being pitted and pointed. A ...

Wiring the ignition switch on a LD10
I've recently rewired my car, a 1951 model, using a wiring diagram in the "Trader" Service Data No. 138 for a 1946-7 model. Not much seems to have changed except the ignition switch in the diagram is a PLC2 and mine is a PLC6. Not a huge problem until you come to wire up from D on the cont...

Re: Cylinder head gasket
Thanks for your opinions, so it looks like copper. And yes I'll be having the head skimmed.

Cylinder head gasket
When winter comes I plan to take the LD10 off the road and do a top overhaul. There are two head gaskets advertised on ebay, one is copper at £93 + P&P and the other a composite material with steel edging around the combustion chamber holes at £85 + P&P. What would be the best one or isn't t...
