Re: Whats an original number worth

Re-fitting the original number can only improve the cars value.

But if several Thousand Pounds are involved it may not be worth it. However, if you can afford you should go ahead. Both you and any future owners will then be happier with the car.

Re: Just bought.......

The body, steering and suspension were not designed or built to be combined with the performance of a V8. This was a classic sedate saloon and just repainting in original colour will make no difference to the changes that have been made.

Re: Conquest Radiator Grille removal.

I understand that Export cars were fitted with a 4 blade fan. So when my DJ254 was getting hot in Summer driving I got another 2 blade fan and fitted it on with the existing fan but at right angles. The bolts were long enough for this. I then had a 4 blade fan and a cooler engine.

Re: V Boyd Carpenter

I knew of Boyd Carpenter and a DB18 I bought in 1994 had just been fitted with an Army Recon engine that he supplied. i bought a few parts from him and his letters were often written in different colours. I asked Alan Doig if he knew what had happened to Lloyd Carpenter's car. He did not but sent me...

Re: DB18 Saloon in Melbourne Australia

I suspect that the Horn push and trafficator switch was changed with the introduction of the DB18.2.
