Re: Old Forum down

Well, a month on and it's still down - so I guess we can assume it's goodbye to a valuable resource?

Re: Sp250 rear axle

Sorry to disagree Dave but my late axle has two plugs. See the Club's description of the car here.

An ethanol problem?

While restoring my SP I replaced the old fuel lines between the filter and carburettors with stainless steel braided hoses - I suspect many of you will have done the same? P1210831.JPG I've now had two failures of these hoses with petrol leaking into the engine bay - potentially very dangerous! Sinc...

Re: Alternator needed for electric fan?

An electric fan certainly adds a significant load to the electrical system but if the cooling system is adequate the duty cycle should be infrequent. Re: Moving seat slides to gain more leg room

Re: SP250 Replacement Leaf Springs

I had a pair from Owen Springs in 2013, cost £247.54. They came complete with bushes. They've been on the car for 6 years now and have given no trouble at all.

SP250 video

Came across this recent Aussie video on the SP that I hadn't seen before....

(...and was particularly surprised to see my own car at 11:55!)

A pretty accurate and nicely balanced assessment.

Re: What is it?

Presumably if on the website it has the Daimler V8 engine? Apparently, yes. This extract from Wikipedia suggests the car utilised quite a lot of SP250 .... ......The company (Tornado) was bought in 1963 by John Rex Glyn Bekaert, Jaguar racing driver and friend of Lofty England (Jaguar). The company...
