Distributor bottom end.

I recently put a new electronic ignition unit in my LD10 distributor. I think I’m a bit too advanced but when I try moving the distributor it moves back before I can relighted it (vaacum pipe seems th be under too much pressure) to stay in position. Could I remove the distributor and move the bottom...

Thanks for input. I have also been told as well as fitting the space get the highest Ah rating and CCA.
