Re: DJ252 QUATER LIGHT WINDOW

I think that Conquests were designed on the “flow through” principle. There is a rubber strip at the bottom of the quarter window on my DJ 252, but this is more of a water deflector than a seal. Also, the bottom of the hood behind the quarter window does not seal out water, but deflects it to a tray...

Re: Conquest or Century carpet retaining rubber

I think I was following Mike Gray’s advice when I did mine last year. The rubber turned out extremely well. I installed it with a steel strip through the “U”, fixed with pop rivets.

Re: DB18 Consort gearbox removal

I changed the fluid flywheel seal on one of my Conquests by dropping the gearbox on a jack. Car needs to be lifted high enough that you can maneuver the gear box far enough out of the way to access the fluid flywheel. I jacked the car up so that the bumpers were about 20” off the ground and supporte...

Re: Conquest or Century carpet retaining rubber

Henry,

I replaced this on one car last year. I obtained the rubber from COH Baines. Part number is IRS0883EP.

Re: Conquest Boot Hinge

Thank you. I did find a pair of hinges and they are on their way. The hinge needed is for a DJ252 and the ones I found were with a DJ252. I was not aware of any differences, but I may have made a lucky acquisition.

Re: FRONT DOOR DRAIN HOLES DJ 252

Bryan, My DJ252 has 4 holes in the bottom of each door. One at each end, and the others evenly spaced. This was the pattern on the original metal before I rebuilt the doors. On the original, the holes were elongated (as I expect they are on your DJ260). When I replaced the door bottoms, I drilled ro...

Conquest Boot Hinge

Does anyone have a spare left boot hinge (or a pair of hinges) for a Conquest saloon?

Re: Conquest steering box leak and no first gear

Douglas, A couple of thoughts: - with adding Penrite to the steering box, I took the cover off the box and filled more or less to where the oil level would have been. - with the first gear issue, it is worth trying linkage adjustments first before getting into the gearbox. As a start, you could even...

Re: DJ 254 seats

A couple of photos of driver's seat runners (from a very cold garage!). In the second photo, the spacer between the seat and outer runner (next to door) is visible. Please let me know if you have any questions.
