Re: Conquest Radiator Grille removal.

Jonathan, I agree with the previous responses. I have successfully acid cleaned the radiator on one of my Conquests and had a rad recored on another. All three run with no over-heating. If you do need to remove the grille, the radiator and grille together can be removed from the car, and then the gr...

NDHC Windscreen Installation

I'm looking for advice on the method of installation for a DJ 254 windscreen. I currently have the frame separated into its 4 component parts (bottom, top, and 2 sides). I have a new rubber, which I know needs to be mitered at the top corners. How do I install the screen? - do I fit the rubber to th...

Re: Daimler Conquest Head Gasket Question

The original post says that the car is a drophead. If the car is a DJ252, then the original engine would be a mark 1. If the car is a DJ 254 NDHC, then it could have either a mark 1 or mark 2 engine. As Graham states - look at the carburetor linkage.

Re: Special Sports fuel sender

I replaced the sender on one of my Conquests. The key is understanding the resistance range of the sender (ohms). From my recollection, the Conquest sender is supposed to be 0-30 ohms. I found that the early (pre 1960s) General Motors (US) senders were of the same range, so I used one of these. I ha...

Re: DJ 254 NDHC Carpets

Mike,

Thank you. I suspect that yours are the original pattern or close to it. They follow the general shape of other Conquest carpets I have seen.

Re: DJ 254 NDHC Carpets

Mike,

Thank you. How far back does your front carpet go - does it go the full length of the seats?

DJ 254 NDHC Carpets

I am about to tackle making new carpets for my NDHC. I have two questions: - My existing front carpets, which I am sure are not original, extend from above the pedals to about the back of the seats and have the seat rails bolted through them. Is this the correct pattern? (my other Conquests have car...

Re: DJ254 NDHC Windscreen Seals

Thank you for the responses. Dennis - I do have the old (original?) seals to use as templates, but would very much appreciate the Woolies part numbers. Rolf - I have not been able to access the website that you provided the link for - I get the response "Forbidden" - is there another way to contact ...

I am looking for advice on where to acquire the following windscreen related seals for a DJ254 New Drophead Coupe:

- Windscreen frame to doors seals.

Thank you
