Thank you for reply,s I have greased up the all the steering and inflated the tyres to 30 psi good suggestion about motor honey will try that. I do remember trying to tackle the adjustment on a previous SP many years ago without success

Well made up with my recent 1400 trouble free miles tour to Scotland and back in my A spec SP which really brought to light the play in the original steering box and would like to know if it can be adjusted?

After unsatisfactory results using annealed copper washers I replaced them with dowty (used on hydraulic fittings) washers which sealed perfectly
