Thanks for your advice
I removed the bolts to the crankcase and pulled it out to get it past the distie.
Then opened up the new oil filter delivery to find _ THEY'D SENT THE WRONG ONE

Is it just me? - Oil Filter Change
Just done 500 miles around the Derbyshire Peaks - went without a hitch. Brought back to two 1cwt lumps of limestone from quarry to carve. Car got back in the heat and stopped outside my gate huffing- 'you can walk from here' and wouldn't start till she'd cooled down. Anyway, decided to change the oi...

Re: S.U. Carb service Kit
I take it that this is the key point from that interesting thread when setting a serviced carb On the S.U. carb there is a small pin under the dashpot which when pushed upward slightly lifts the dashpot piston. The mixture (at tick-over) is deemed to be correct if the engine revs rise slightly, then...

Re: S.U. Carb service Kit
My dry carb service kit has arrived and now that Pershore Carnival is over (I'm going to do the upgrade) Is there any advice to be had about adjusting the mixture - I've got it so (most) of the plugs are burning to a chocolate colour (took me ages). Any tips most gratefully received.

S.U. Carb service Kit
Hi guys
I've searched the forum but does anyone know spec of the single S.U. Carb on a Daimler Consort 1952? - I need to get a service kit but am bewildered by the choice and the chance of getting it wrong.
many thanks : if as usual : you can help

Any advice? Recently I replaced three core plugs and while they are NOT weeping and the engine is running at the right temperature I seem to be losing water after a trip (80 miles) When idling I can't see any drips. Any ideas (is there a fourth core plug?) or is it time for Radweld or a raw egg? Tha...
