Re: Importing a car from the USA

I suggest you look at the UK Gov and HMRC websites for guidance as to what import tax you may need to pay. Re: V8-250 Saloon: Fan Belt - Solid or Tooth

Thanks Colin, that is useful to know regarding the fan belt design / wording. I remember very well and still have some, Unipart GCB fan belts which of course then, were referred to as cogged belts. I like the idea of the V section with relieved sections. Things are looking up !! Out of interest I wi...

V8-250 Saloon: Fan Belt - Solid or Tooth

Hello, At some stage a PO of my 1968 V8 saloon must have changed either the WP pulley or (more likely) the Alt pulley. As such, the correct fan belt (C27354) from DMG is too big - even with the Alt at its maximum adjustment and I need a smaller belt. Does or should the fanbelt be solid, or are saloo...

Re: Bumper rechroming

Hello Martyn,

Regret to say you have answered your own question: I understand that quality comes at a cost, but..

I have used Derby Plating before and their workmanship is excellent - not the cheapest, but............... as you say !!

Re: More PPG Taxi Black Celluose Paint Wanted

Hello Al,

If struggling, may be worth phoning these chaps - they are excellent and have used them on countless occasions. They can match the most difficult of paints and do mail order.

Re: previous owners photos

Hello Nobby, Always a bonus to have tangible information of that sort, certainly makes the history file on the car even more interesting. Some owners are lucky, whereas others never get an ounce of historical information. I have no doubt thousands of photos and documents have been destroyed over the...
