Re: 2020 DLOC INTERNATIONAL NOW OPEN FOR BOOKING

Such is the case these days, that every weekend has numerous classic vehicle events across the UK. You cannot please everyone all of the time. The best you can plan for is that significant dates such as Goodwood, F1 and Beaulieu etc do not overlap club nationals; sometimes easier said then done. For...

Re: Insurance Company Tactics

Hello Stan, You did the absolute right thing by refusing. Your first action should be to take photos of your car and the damage - this to be sent to the insurance company. Once you have done that, I would wait to hear from the company and progress from there. I also agree about having your damage in...

Re: V8-250 Saloon: Wiring Block Connectors

Many thanks Colin and AW - your assistance & replies are very much appreciated.

I'm on the case and will report back in due course; SC Parts are not far from me; it will cost far less in fuel than it will with their p&p at about £12.70 !!

Best wishes.

Richard.

V8-250 Saloon: Wiring Block Connectors

Hello, At some stage, sooner rather than later, I will be looking to replace and improve the wiring block connectors located on the LH and RH wings along with the associated wires. As you can see from the photos they are not dreadful, but nor are they brilliant either. The saloon has a 20x way block...

Re: Disposal of waste coolant, oil or petrol

Dave,

Worth using Creocote as a genuine replacement for the old style creosote - it's not water based and a top product.

Re: Daimler 2.5 V8 Battery/Dynamo issues

Hello Alan, Regardless of the battery quality / type, it is important to ensure you keep it trickle charged during your nigh-on dormant 7 month period. A battery does not take kindly to self draining and it becomes useless pretty soon. You can get decent trickle charge units for not a lot of money a...

Re: Disposal of waste coolant, oil or petrol

Hello, You will be highly environmentally irresponsible if you just tip your waste oil in to the ground believing it will decompose naturally - naïve as well. Used oil is laced with contaminants and requires correct disposal. If you cannot access the local tip, many garages will be more than happy t...

Re: Chassis Work - Anything I should do beforehand?

Hello Steve, The advantage that Redex has, is that it has dissolving properties and any gumming or build up of carbon within the bores will be weakened by a Redex treatment whereas oil is purely a lubricant. Once you know the pistons are free to move, any poor compression readings can be further tes...
