Re: fog ranger spots on 2,5 v8 1965

Brian, I use this one now and very good it is as well: https://imagecompressor.com/ The fuse holders come in singles, 5x and 10x I believe - I'd go for 10x units allowing spares for the future projects !! The other benefit is they can be fitted side-by-side making for a neat fitting. Relays need to ...

Re: fog ranger spots on 2,5 v8 1965

Brian, 1. You can purchase the colour wiring diagrams via the club shop - they are in A1 format and an excellent bit of kit. The V8 saloon is 95% accurate and you need to x-ref that with the WSM wiring diagram to confirm wire colours. 2. The correct Lucas wire colour for fog lamps is Red/Yellow - th...

Re: fog ranger spots on 2,5 v8 1965

Hello Brian. It is fair to say that these lights have caused many owners an issue. The majority of which come down to poor installation and probably the greatest concern is ensuring that the live metal tab the bulb sits on is correctly insulated within the lamp. Placement of the insulation strip ins...

Re: Gaz Front Shock Absorber Settings (C20989GAZ)

Darren, I note you have a V8 saloon. GAZ are a good choice of adjustable shocks and I have used these on different classics along with SPAZ. Each model of car [due to weight and handling] will dictate the optimum setting. As an example, I have a Triumph Vitesse CV fitted with GAZ and have found sett...

Daimler Fifteen - PARTS FOR SALE

Hello. I was speaking with Peter Jury at the Spring NEC Restoration Show, who you may know as the owner of Classic Dynamo & Regulator Conversions: www.dynamoregulatorconversions.com He mentioned that he has a large selection of spares for the Daimler Fifteen 1933 - 1935, this also includes a sel...

Re: Start button wiring

In order of your last update: 1. Most of these V8 saloons will be suffering from some sort of cloth loss on the various cables which as you have come to realise is frustrating and less than helpful. The white wire is most likely one of the starter button [when you get one] cables, the other MAY be t...

Re: Start button wiring

The white from the push button starter goes to the ignition switch and then to fuse A3 The white / purple wire goes to terminal 1 on the inhibitor switch. From your thread, I get the impression the ignition switch is at fault rather than the inhibitor switch; if it were the latter you would be encou...
