Good advice re the above comments. It is also possible that the bands, if they are the cause, may need readjusting. Following on from the last response, the other alternative on similar lines is to use the breaker bar and have it wedged against part of the chassis. On turning the engine slightly on the starter this will free the nut off its thread. It will certainly test the quality of your socket !!
