Re: DB18 Mechanical Brakes
I recall a similar problem many decades ago with the brake light staying on. I think I replaced a return spring and now occasionally check the ammeter when releasing the pedal - you can see it flick when the brake lights go off! (saves having to get out and check!)

Re: Trico Vacuum Washer Fault Finding Instructions
perhaps I needed that 40 years ago when I replaced the old bottle set up on my DB18 Barker convertible with a more modern plastic Trico reservoir. I still have that (with screen wash in it I notice) but long since given up on worrying about it working! thomas p

Sportscar garage ad?
Dont suppose someone on here keeps old Motorsport mags? I bought my 1950 DB18 exactly 50 years ago after seeing an ad from a small business in Twford Street London - Sportscar Garage - specialised in old Daimlers and Jensens I think. I would love to have the advert from Jan or Feb 1973 to add to its...

Re: Stuck in gear
Finally got time to remove floor and thankfully it is only the linkage at the gearbox end - the brass insert in the coupling failed and dropped off somewhere. David B has one and its on the way! I think even I may be able to fix it.

Stuck in gear
My 1950 DB18 Barker drophead was much admired yesterday - bedecked with union flags - at a jubillee picnic outside the Highlanders Museum in Fort George. Sadly when we fired up to depart the scene gracefully the gear change pedal went flat to the floor and stayed there! I was stuck in 2nd gear but n...

workshop manual db18
I have to take the plunge and trust my 1950 DB18 Barker 4str to a new mechanic for servicing etc. I am sure I have seen that a workshop manual exists in downloadable form? where from please? His dad used to do old cars, but was sadly killed last year soon after agreeing to take on the work. Son seem...

DM 1980s back copies
I have a run of DM magazines from mid 82 - 88. belonged to a conquest owner I used to know who got rid of the car and left me with the mags (which I already have)
