1. You didn't mention turning the ignition switch - if the ignition light goes on before the switch is on, there is a short at the switch that must be eliminated before anything else. 2. Your top photo is the main switch block between the wiring loom, battery and voltage controller. It is probably correctly wired, and I can even see a spare 35amp fuse sitting in the right place for it.
