Re: Daimler Double Six coolant

Try Liquid Intelligence 239 Cooling System Cleaning kit. Review it on the Liquid Intelligence website.

Re: DB18 Petrol Tank Sender

If you do the above electrical checks and they show the gauge is working then the float arm is probably seized due to rust.

Fluid Flywheel Identification

I have the two halves of a fluid flywheel but don't know what model Daimler it is from. The only identification I can find is that one half is stamped with Ass. No. 297039 and the other half is stamped with Ass. No. 299302. Can anyone identify which car these might belong to?

Re: DB18 Carburettor Flooding

Now I have the car running again I tackled the problem of the flooding carburettor. At first I tried bending the arm that controls the float valve. That didn't work. Then I bought a new valve but that made it worse as the valve was smaller in cross-section than the original and kinked worse. Finally ...

Re: DB18 Lucas Regulator and Junction Box RJF91 Type L3

Well it has taken over a year but I have finally got the old girl back on the road. I had no power on the dash and the only electrical circuit that would work was the horn. After playing around with the lights and ignition switch we finally discovered we could power everything up by running a jumper...

DB18 Carburettor Flooding

My car often sits for a long time and the carburettor bowl dries out. When this happens the float bowl arm and the needle valve jam in the open position so that the carburettor floods when I start the car again. I am thinking that if I bend the float bowl arm I may solve the problem. I realise I the...

Re: DB18 CYLINDER HEAD STUDS THREAD SIZE

I think the originals are 3/8" BSW. I recently had to replace two of mine which were corroded into the block. They were 3/8" UNF (24 tpi) at the top and 7/16" BSW (20 tpi) at the bottom into the block. I made them up using a 7/16" high tensile bolt, cutting off the head and turni...

I can easily get at mine by removing the floor between the boot and the spare tyre compartment.

Re: 1928 Limousine worm drive oil spec

I use Penrite lubricants in all my old cars. If you contact them (see website) they will give you a recommendation on what to use for all models of Daimler.
