Re: Lanchester LA 10 Hub. Als.

Hi chaps, Peter’s Lanchester LA 10, was 1st Registered in 1934, so that should help to determine which type of Hub Caps would have been originally fitted. If anybody has a set that they are prepared to part with , please contact Peter as detailed below :- . Peter Chester 'Birchwood', Rectory Lane, W...

Re: Solid state (facet) fuel pump.

Hi Steve ,sorry forgot about the fact that I mounted the Thermostat against the Face of the housing, along with a suitable Gasket that fitted snugly around it, thus keeping it in position, when the securing Bolts were tightened . Been like that for many years with absolutely no problems 😊 Cheers Al 😊😊

Re: Wheel arches on 1939 Lanchester La11

Hi Steve, here are a couple pictures of parts that are similar to the ones that I used to secure the Inner Rear Wheel Arch in position, I found these on e-Bay, but of course you would still need to obtain the Riveting Gun , maybe you have access to a Body shop ?? You did ask for a photo of my car, b...

Re: Wheel arches on 1939 Loanchester La11

Hi Steve, there should be a mechanical fixing at the lower front end of the Inner Wheel Arch, this is in the form of a large Rivet that secures the Inner Arch to the Chassis. Having drilled out the Rivet and repaired the inner Arch, I re-secured the the Arch using a Huck Bolt , fortunately I was abl...

Re: Solid state (facet) fuel pump.

Hi Frank, in answer to your Thermostat query, yes it is possible to fit a modern one into the original Housing as I have done on my LA 11. You may ? have to remove the original Brass Rod that runs in the centre, just cut it off on the inside leaving the original external retaining Nut in place. I wo...

Re: What is it?

Hi , yes the item described is indeed an Harmonic Stabiliser, same as fitted to my LA 11, the 1936 LA 10’s were fitted with the 1444cc Engine, which was then fitted to the LA11, so would indeed have been fitted with a Water pump, I believe ,

Cheers Al 😊😊😊

Re: Are garages open for repairs and MOTs?

Hi Peter, yes your absolutely right, in fact both of my cars are stored in a friends large garage, I intend to repaint the whole of the underside and Suspension etc on the MG , as for the Lanchester, being parked in front of the MG allows me to be able to take her outside as I did last week and allo...

Re: Are garages open for repairs and MOTs?

Hi Chaps , firstly, I do hope that everything I’d good with you all 😊😊 Just wanted to add that the MOT ran out on my MG ZS 120 the week before last, so booked it I for last Monday, only to hear that we were all subject to the β€œ Lock in” , so cancelled . Also the Road Tax is due to require renewal at...
