Re: Electronic ignition - 6cy 2.4 75hp

But: not long after the change the ignition coil of one of my cars failed. Then I learned that an electronic ignition puts a much heavier load on the coil, and an upgrade to a high quality coil is strongly recommended. That is correct as electronic ignition (EI) delivers a far larger and stronger s...

Re: V8-250 Saloon: Pulley / Damper / Hub Separation

Hello Chris,

Thanks for getting back to me, I'd like to remove the hub to unit with a view to modifying the timing cover oil seal - it will be less awkward to do so by having the hub unit on its own.

The whole assembly is surplus to requirements anyway, hence being dismantled.

Regards.

V8-250 Saloon: Pulley / Damper / Hub Separation

Hello, I would like to separate this assembly as much as possible and before I go wading in, can I ask your advice about the way to do this please - the WSM is not overly helpful or perhaps it's me being a tad obtuse !! Photos attached. The bolts and tab links have been removed but I've not pushed o...

Re: Power steering reservoir for V8 250

Hello Ron, The 2x pipes fitted to the reservoir are not under pressure and as such any decent hose PAS (non-pressurised hose) will be fine for that job. Only the hose from the pump to the steering box is under pressure - in essence it is a hydraulic pipe with the appropriate fittings. As for the O r...

Re: V8-250 Saloon: Running-In Oil

Dear Chris, Happy New Year. Many thanks for your reply and that is very useful plus timely, as ironically I have factored the Morris running-in oil as a possible choice as well. I will look at their {Morris} site and read what they have to say. After you drained your flushing oil, did you do anythin...

V8-250 Saloon: Running-In Oil

Hello, Within the next couple of weeks I will be firing-up my new fully rebuilt V8 saloon engine and I will be interested to know, from those who have been in a similar situation, as to which make and spec running-in oil was used. I am currently looking at the Penrite 15W/40 running-in option: http:...

Re: Silverstone Classic 2020

Hello Graham, I would certainly have stepped forward to organise and run the 2020 Silverstone Classic on behalf of DLOC; but with regret I already have another classic car show I am organising on that Sunday weekend in addition to my Daimler being used as a wedding car on behalf of a friend the prec...
