Re: DE36 MXF 687 ex-Lord Beaverbrook

On a slightly different topic. What is a Spey limousine. There was a maroon and cream one for sale at Bonhams in Oxford some years ago which was bought and then came up for sale a short while later.

Re: DE36 MXF 687 ex-Lord Beaverbrook

It depends upon how quickly the bidder's bank takes to process but one could imagine there might be a few thousand pounds in Brightwells' bank account to be put on the overnight money market.

Re: DE36 MXF 687 ex-Lord Beaverbrook

I asked Brightwells if they really wanted a £2,500 deposit and apparently they do! That does seem rather strange. I can see that they might want to ensure bidders are genuine but £2,500?

Re: DE36 MXF 687 ex-Lord Beaverbrook

I thought I would take a punt at one of the other cars on that auction only to find that Brightwells want a £2500 deposit before they will let you register to bid. You can't even put the car on a watch list. Is this standard practice these days?

Re: DE36 MXF 687 ex-Lord Beaverbrook

There are many who could be described as "different" who might find this car attractive but 10 mpg would limit the attraction. There was one for sale at Historic sale in Surrey, possibly the ex Brian Smith car but that did not make much. My memory recalls that as a Freestone and Webb bodie...

Re: DE36 MXF 687 ex-Lord Beaverbrook

If I recall, this car was advertised earlier this year by a member. Would I be overly suspicious if I suggested that the buyer has just flipped this?

Concrete

Good afternoon. Can anyone recommend a product to clean a heavy oil stain in/on a concrete floor please? The problem with concrete is that it's porous and I suspect that the oil stain will be quite deep.

Re: db18 parts, and other models

419398 are coming up as points for Ford Zephyr and Rover 75 so it's possible they might fit some other six cylinder engines, thus explaining why there just the single set. I have a set of 403670 on my desk and there are two sets in the one box. They would have cost £20 but he was kind enough to sell...

Re: db18 parts, and other models

David, My apologies for failing to read your entry correctly. However, I have checked my parts books (my personal ones that relate to all sorts of parts) and the points for a DE36 are showing as 403670 which appear to be the same as a Light Straight Eight. Are the points you have for a later model o...
