Re: TFL the ULEZ rules for historics
I don’t understand why vehicles should be exempt at all. I especially don’t understand why a commercial vehicle should be exempt if it is earning its keep. Why vehicles used for special occasions should be exempt. Come to think of it why anyone would want to enter a town in a vehicle of historic int...

Re: Quentin Willson's Dart for sale
It’s not as original as some but it has fully known history. To me that doesn’t make it more valuable. I don’t care who has owned it really, the present condition is more what I look for.

Re: MOT tests, how valid are they?
It’s all down to personal interpretation of guide lines and what was had for breakfast that day. I’ve seen experienced testers failing things because they simply know it’s a common fault on a particular car. The secret is to be with the tester as he does the test and talk it all through with him as ...

Re: 3 SPs FOR AUCTION
I went to look at something else today at the Brightwells site and couldn’t resist having a look at the three SP’s up for auction. I was told that the “the three Darts added up to 180”. In my opinion they were a little short of a ton. For me the best on offer was the most original A spec car but eac...

Re: How many know?
There was talk of the EU bringing in the law after a case but I have forgotten the specifics. Something with a V an N and some other letters in its name. I was under the impression though, that since Brexit, it does NOT apply in the UK and therefore no increase in insurance policies etc and existing...

Re: Electronic Ignition
Not my choice, but each to their own. The pros and cons have been covered on the forum before and I think the different types have as well. Which ever you pick there is one thing you should also consider and that is your voltage regulator and it’s condition. If it’s not in good order then it can bur...

Re: BSA Top Gear Noise
Does the tone change significantly between pulling and free wheeling?
If so I would suspect lay shaft bearings if your box has such a thing.
