Re: SP250 Original Pressed Wheels
If your car is Dark Blue then its colour is not original. Regardless, it is your car so you can paint the wheels whatever colour you like! Why not go to the SP250 Day at Kop Hill and have a good look round at other cars, that way you would get a good idea of the finished appearance. Alternatively yo...

Re: Daimler SP250 Hatchback
well it has been a good show, I saw three Darts in attendance and a couple of Saloon V8's. Good trade stands too, one had a lot of Majestic Major trim. Highlights were a 4.8 litre motorbike made out of two cylinders from a Dakota engine with a Morris 10 gearbox and A Napier replica with a supercharg...

Re: Which engine oil
Doesn't the viscosity of the oil depend on the mesh size in the filter? I say this because I have a Flexolite 'spin-on' adapter and I always feel the oil thickness should match the filter's mesh. The filters are for modern car's oil so it should keep the oil clean in the Dart? And in relation to you...

Re: rack and pinion conversion .
The greater number of steering wheel turns from lock to lock will give lighter steering: This is one reason why many have converted to R&P. There are a few different ratios on various Triumph racks that people have used, all give different number of steering wheel turns from lock to lock. There'...

Re: Dart Thermostat
Thanks fellows! All good stuff. My electric fan automatically cuts in at about 200F [94C] on the gauge, so I suppose my thermostat ought to be as much below that as reasonably possible? The fail-open seems to be the best way so I shall visit my supplier and ask for the coldest that is fail-open bell...

Dart Thermostat
What is the current thinking on the best Thermostat to put into a Dart? I always thought thermostats were designed to open at either 88 or 92 degrees, but see the ones David Manners sells [304358] are listed as "THERMOSTAT 74C" so is that meaning they open at just 74C? Or maybe I am I mist...

Re: MoT exemption
It’s always a good idea to get someone to look at it as they see what you don't. especially if it has been idle for ages. it’s like proof reading a professional journalist's work. But I really think there should be a cut down [and cheaper] test for our cars. And Note as Nick [Vortex O'Plinth] said e...
