I shipped my Dart from the UK to Australia RoRo and about 2 or 3 years later from Australia to the US, it shared a container for that trip.
No issues with RoRo would use service again.

In my case changed bulbs, removed existing flasher unit, installed new adjustable flasher and adjusted all for less than $10 -- doesn't come much cheaper or easier than that.

Is the relay you purchased adjustable?
I have one that cost about 3 bucks, it has a 'knob' to adjust the 'flash' rate and have not experienced the issues you state.

Yes there is a difference from memory the bolts as used in the saloon are ~ 5 f/lbs higher than the studs/nuts on the SP250. I don't have access to my manuals but when I built my spare SP250 engine recently using bolts instead of studs/nuts I uncovered the difference prior to running the engine and ...

Dellow Australia also make conversion kits and a have cast bell housing for either the SP250 or Saloon Car -- just have to tell them the location of the starter motor. They are less expensive than the New Zealand one and I can attest to the quality......I purchased one from them. I have a non machin...
