Re: Ceramic Coating

I may be wrong but I understand that the coating is exactly that a coating. What ever is underneath will be seen after the application. The reason it is expensive to have done by a professional is the preparation work before the product even goes near the car. Any scratches, blemishes, flaws and dir...

Re: SP 250 rack and pinion modification

I can’t remember which but if you use the common Triumph parts suppliers then the thing to do is ask for the longest ones from there range. That may even be from a spitfire or 2000 saloon. If you have already got a modified car then the longest rod ends make for more thread contact and piece of mind...

Re: Starter motor

Try the basics first.
Are the brushes OK. They want to be longer than they are wide.
Give the armature a really good polish with Emery cloth. That’s a common fault.
Check the connection are well cleaned up, both earth and supply to both starter and solenoid.

Re: PROPSHAFT FRONT UJ

I don’t think it’s possible without removing the whole thing. If you can only lift the rear end up then the gear box end is accessible by removing the gearbox tunnel. A little long winded but if needs must.

Re: Daimler bus at Shadwell 1914

Even at the low speeds achieved in the day, I wonder if the amount of tilt when cornering made for an exciting or frightening ride. The centre of gravity does appear high.
As a Leeds lad it nice to see the photo.

Re: Engine oil leak

The Wynn and `Lucas products and the like are no use at all on old Daimler engines. They are designed to swell rubber and consequently are a waste of money and time trying to use them.

Forum access and updates

I have just read your post John B about how nice the forum is. And believe me it is. Probably the best forum I use and all because of the option to read all the current posts by date on the current posts rather than trawling through each section. The fact is it, gives me a chance to see all aspects ...
