Re: LD10 Exhaust

With exhaust systems nowadays, it's a one off expense for a stainless system. Fit it and forget it. In respect to what seems a considerable expense, this needs to be borne in mind. I've had systems made by PD Gough and they do a real quality job and I've not had to lay out a penny since, even on mou...

Barrie, thanks for the coachbuilders link. It threw up a few unknowns to me. Interesting site.

Re: Trailer with blowing bulbs

Look at the failed bulbs. If they appear smokey, it's over voltage.
I'm still hedging bets the regulator is running at 16 volts or more, or a loose battery terminal causing voltage to rise steeply.

Re: What Size Battery Cable Should I Use?

Coming from the Bus industry, where frequently batteries were at the opposite end to the engine, often a fine multistrand cable was used. Much better than copper strands of 1.0 mm and above commonplace on cars of today. This material was called "Unipren" and is available in various sizes, ...

Re: Trailer with blowing bulbs

All that was left each time was the securing screws and a bit of lens and the bulb. At least three losses b...

Re: Grey oil/water emulsion coating rocker cover

Basically, water is getting into the oil side of the engine. Look for weeping up the threads of the head studs into the rocker box. If the head studs have been out when head gasket was done, and not sealed threads with a bit of stud lock. Otherwise, weeping core plugs in top face of the head, or els...

Daimler 15 Six Light 1934 has to go

After 13 years of delivering Brides (and grooms) to their fate, I'm hanging up my chauffeurs cap and the Daimler 15 that I have nurtured through this time has to find a new owner. This lovely car is not perfect but has had a ridiculous amount of time, money and sweat expended on her, only last year ...
