Re: Another engine disaster

With a compression ratio of 8.2:1, a compression reading of 70 does sound very low indeed. A lot of the compression is getting out without the oil there to seal it in, and that won't be there (the oil that is) during normal running. However, there really isn't enough here to go on, it could be any o...

Re: Another engine disaster

Sorry my friend, this sounds like they are trying to pull some wool over your eyes. This does not ring true at all. Like Bud, I am incredulous at this statement.

Re: Another engine disaster

Reading the post carefully I would conclude it ran fine for the 30 minutes and then was turned off. It was then difficult to turn over. My conclusion is the water came into the bores after the engine was turned off rather than while it was running. It suggests a significant gasket leak or crack some...

When this forum was first setup I found a company that would have moved all the posts across from the old o...

Re: Empress 3.5 litre 1957 chassis 91505

It's a little more complex than Gary suggests. Firstly, "A" suffix was indeed started in January 1963. Only London and Cornwall issued A suffix registrations. Other authorities continued with whichever series they were allocated, which, depending on the authority, might be 3 letters follow...

Re: DE27 sedanca VHY 555

Hmm. I'm not convinced. I've seen this car up close at a couple of shows and there is all sorts of things going on under the paintwork in various places and the doors don't line up or shut properly. I think there were other issues I spotted as well.

Re: What is a straight line?

Does a straight line have an end or does it continue beyond the points on that line?
