I seem to remember that my rear floorboards in my Consort have got similar plates on them. I asked then if anybody knew what they were for and nobody did.

I have worked in engineering all my life (so far) and the term has always been "off". Might I respectfully suggest that your supplier needs some education.

I would think the answer is rarity. Those Mk 111 Zodiac/Zephyr used to rust quicker than you can blink and there are not many left.

I have tried the soldering method and you need to be very careful how much heat you put in. A little too much heat and the solder just runs out while it's cooling,but it can be done. I have found Namrick to be a bit on the expensive side. Perhaps I have been spoiled by a local supplier who will sell BSF fasteners very cheaply. However when he hasn't got the size I need my next call is eBay and then Namrick.

All the threads I have found so far on my Consort are BSF. I don't think you'll have much luck finding a bolt kit. See if you can find a local fastener supplier, they usually have some old stock to sell.

Thank you Rolf, that wasn't the one I was looking for but there was one of those on offer from World of Books for £3.55 so I bought it just to see what is in it. It'll probably join the library of other Daimler books that I will read "one day"
