Re: Daimler 15 steering "wobble"
Hi Dave, By sheer coincidence I just mentioned exactly the same thing that happened to my Special Sports n the post about tyres. When I fitted the vintage radial tyres all traces of that violent wobble vanished. I had people check out the front suspension for me and the wheels and tyres and there wa...

Re: Db18 tyres
Gentlemen, FWIW here is a photo of my Special Sports with the Coker Vintage Radials on it. The tyres are quite "slim" fit well in the spare wheel housing and really do give overall good performance. Prior to the Cokers, when I had cross ply tyres on the car (Excelsior Brand) I found the ca...

Re: Db18 tyres
Gentlemen,
Consider the Coker Vintage radials or equivalent.
Excellent ride quality, not unduly heavy and really good road holding.
600 x 16 inch for the DB range.
Cheers

Re: 104 Brochure (Ladies' Model)
Barrie, I have a scan of the brochure that may assist with the Ladies Model accessories and placement. Send me a personal email to (and i have sued words rather than symbols) to: peteratschwartzdotcomdotau and I will forward you scans of two brochures covering the range. Interestingly the combinatio...

Re: Daimler 104 wanted
Hi Andrew, Would you be prepared to buy a car here in Sydney and then arrange to have it shipped? Our Late Vice President's fleet is slowly being sold off and he had a very good (but needing engine attention) restored One 0 Four pre select and also a spares car of the same type. If you would be inte...

Re: 1957 Daimler 104 Sportsman
Hi Barrie,
That is great news about the car.
Interesting that there is no Overdrive, weren't the Sportsman series all fitted with overdrive as standard?
Cheers

Re: DLOC Rally 2023
Hi Simon, It would be a good goal for me to work towards a visit! So the Ritz: does it now belong to Brian Smith? Is it the ex Inge Haby car? I remember David Adcock put me in touch with Inge and we exchanged letters (in those days) and he kindly sent me some photos of the car. A lovely Daimler. Che...

Re: 1957 Daimler 104 Sportsman
Hi Barrie, I may stand corrected here but the Sportsman came with the OD gearbox, the One 0 Four didn't. Just as an aside. Some years ago, the father of one of the law partners at a small practice i was working at learnt that I had a Daimler and told me that he had owned a large saloon in the mid fi...

Re: Daimler 3. 5-Litre Empress Mark IIA
All the Daimlers at that sale seemed underpriced.
Having said that, it is the market that dictates values.
