V 4 1/2 fuses

Clearly there are some things "not quite right" with the car and one of them is the lack of power to any of the lamps. I can turn the switch but nothing happens. In an effort to establish a chain of investigation I removed the fuse cover to find the top fuse, of 35amp capacity, was blown. ...

Re: Wheel removal V4 1/2/V32

Gentlemen, thank you for your contributions. This afternoon I ventured out, determined to "deal" with the problem, put the spanner on and here it is my mistake. Normally a nut will undo to the left, ie anti-clockwise. In this case the nut undid by being made to rotate clockwise and I have ...

Wheel removal V4 1/2/V32

I am trying to remove the offside rear wheel from a V 4 1/2 or V32. The handbook instructs the owner to fit the spanner and using the lead hammer, which I don't have, turn the central nut in the direction of the arrow on the nut. Unfortunately the arrows are not there, not on any of the four and usi...

Re: Luvax shock absorbers for a V 41/2 (V32)

Thank you for the drawing and information. I managed to remove the one in the photograph but taking the RH one off will mean trying to reach two of the bolts from above and after removing the battery carrier. It's impossible to fit a socket over the nuts. If the flange had been just a little bigger ...

Luvax shock absorbers for a V 41/2 (V32)

I managed to remove the LHS shock absorbers which had been leaking for some time. Oil and dirt all over the place. I wonder why it is connected to the central oiling system. Surely that would pressurise it?
There are two filler plugs. If it's connected to the oiling system why would they be necessary?

Re: Lamps on a V32

Thank you. There's a large hexagon filler plug on top but also a small feed pipe, presumably from the chassis lubrication system.

Lamps on a V32

How does one switch on the lamps on a V32? There's a switch on the steering column nacelle which shows that one turns a switch to the right for sidelights and further for headlamps but is there a master switch somewhere? The hand book is far from clear The Luvax shock absorbers at the rear. Somewhat...

Re: E10/E5

Thank you. I noted the comments from SPortsman and he uses an additive. It might a concern if they decide to reduce the amount of E5 available, thus restricting the use of older cars even more.

E10/E5

Forgive me if this has been asked before but can 1950s Daimlers be run on E5? I know some cars can be run on E10 but is this bad for older cars

2022 DLOC Rally at York

I have had a look on the "Active Topics" page several times and I can't find any mention of this year's Annual Rally. Was it any good, were there lots of cars in attendance and what was the location like?
